A Memorable Visit to Lion’s Park Grill Haus in Manokan Country, Bacolod City
Introduction
It was a typical day in our school’s faculty room when my friends and co-teachers, Jojo Bayona and Leilani Dusaban, and I decided to venture out for dinner. We had been eating outside for several consecutive days, always looking for places that serve lighter, less fatty dishes. Leilani mentioned a Vietnamese restaurant and an Indian one, but I was craving grilled food. It had been a while since I last had grilled chicken, and I thought it was time to indulge. My friends graciously agreed to my choice, and we headed to Lion’s Park Grill Haus, a place I had been eager to review as part of my series on chicken inasal restaurants.
Location and Ambiance [ Lion’s Park Grill Haus in Manokan Country ]
Lion’s Park Grill Haus is conveniently located in the reclamation area of Bacolod City, near SM City Bacolod. The restaurant is easy to find; ask for directions, and locals will point you in the right direction. What I love about this place is its spacious dining area. It’s not suffocating, even when it’s complete, which is often the case. The ambiance is generally pleasant, providing a comfortable setting for meals with friends or family.
Food Quality and Portions [ Lion’s Park Grill Haus in Manokan Country ]
One of the standout features of this place is its generous portion sizes. I have always been impressed by how much food you get for your money. During our visit, we ordered a variety of dishes: Leilani opted for pecho (chicken breast), Jojo Bayona chose chicken wings and pork barbecue, and I ordered pecho and isol (chicken butt). The pecho was more significant than the chicken thigh, which justified the slightly higher price. The slices were big, juicy, and incredibly satisfying. The taste was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of smokiness from the grill. What I like most about Lion’s Park Grill Haus is the generous portion sizes and the delicious taste of their grilled dishes. The isol, in particular, was a highlight—big chunks of tender, juicy meat that left me wanting more. The pecho was equally impressive, with its larger size than the chicken thigh, making it well worth the extra cost.
Beverage Options [ Lion’s Park Grill Haus in Manokan Country ]
While this place offers abundant drinks, including sodas and other beverages, I noticed one minor issue. They only serve tap water, which can concern some diners. Jojo Bayona initially opted for water but ended up ordering bottled water instead. This is a small area for improvement, as offering bottled or filtered water as an alternative would enhance the dining experience.
Service and Hygiene [ Lion’s Park Grill Haus in Manokan Country ]
The service at the restaurant was relatively fast, although delays can occur when the restaurant is busy. Our server was friendly and accommodating, even taking photos for us. However, one aspect caught my attention: the utensils were served in cold water, which could pose a hygiene risk. I suggest implementing a standard sterilizer for utensils to prevent bacterial growth. Due to this, we opted to eat with our hands, but fortunately, the washing area was well-equipped with effective liquid hand soap. This is an important detail, as many restaurants skimp on the quality of their hand soap, mixing it with water, which can reduce its potency.
Additional Notes
Parking can sometimes be challenging at Lion’s Park Grill Haus, but we were lucky to find a spot right in front of the restaurant during our visit. Despite these minor issues, the overall experience was positive, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious grilled food in Bacolod City.
Conclusion
Lion’s Park Grill Haus offers a satisfying dining experience with its generous portions, flavorful grilled dishes, and friendly service. While there are a few areas for improvement, such as utensil hygiene and beverage options, the restaurant remains a favorite in Bacolod City. With a few adjustments, it could provide an even better experience for its customers. It remains a good choice for those seeking delicious grilled food in a comfortable setting.
