Unlimited Seafood Delights at Hunasan Seafood House

After seeing a spectacular online review with a 10/10 rating, our group decided to try out Hunasan Seafood House. Located at Tent 2 Circumferential Road, Villa Angela Market Place, Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, the restaurant immediately impressed us with the enticing aroma of fresh seafood. The spread featured a generous variety of shrimp, crab, seaweed, seashells, and chicken dishes, catering well to budget seafood enthusiasts.

Warmth in Service at Hunasan Seafood House

The staff’s warm welcome, many of whom hailed from Sagay City, truly enhanced our dining experience. Their genuine smiles and humble demeanor made us feel at home, despite some lacking professional food service skills. However, as discerning diners, we noted areas that could be improved. While the servers were friendly and the restaurant seemed popular, food establishments need to strive for a more professional customer service approach to ensure a positive experience for all customers.

Ambiance and Value at Hunasan Seafood House

Hunasan Seafood House isn’t a fancy, air-conditioned establishment, but for only ₱299, you can’t expect a five-star experience. The focus here is on providing delicious seafood at an unbeatable price. While extravagant dishes like lobster or desserts are absent, the value for money is undeniable. The ambiance, though simple, is comfortable and suitable for a casual dining experience. However, I cannot vouch if the place is comfortable during the daytime.

Food Quality and Temperature | Hunasan Seafood House

One disappointing aspect was the temperature of the food. Arriving at 6 PM with high expectations fueled by online praises, we were let down to find many dishes already cold. While the staff kindly reheated the fish tinola at our request, other dishes had lost their comforting warmth. Investing in warmers or other methods to keep dishes consistently hot throughout dining hours could significantly enhance the experience.

Although the cooking wasn’t extraordinary, the flavors were acceptable, especially when dishes were served warm. The seafood dishes, in particular, were well-seasoned, showcasing the freshness of the ingredients. However, the crabs lacked meatiness, the crablets were wilting, and the shrimps weren’t in ideal condition, dampening our excitement.

Honest Staff, Room for Growth | Hunasan Seafood House

While the staff demonstrated honesty and respect, there is room for improvement in their food service skills. With proper training, they have the potential to become top-notch food servers, enhancing the overall dining experience. Our comments and suggestions were received with smiles, but it seemed like they were unaware of the essential aspects we pointed out for improvement.

Final Thoughts and Recommendations

In conclusion, Hunasan Seafood House offers the potential for an affordable seafood feast. However, if only the reviews and social media were honest, my expectations wouldn’t have been as high. While improvements are needed, such as serving food at the proper temperature and further staff training, the value and honesty of the establishment are evident. For a budget-friendly seafood escapade, this place is worth a try.

With some fine-tuning, Hunasan Seafood House has the potential to become a go-to destination for seafood enthusiasts. We hope the owner considers our suggestions, as we believe that with warm and well-served dishes, more people will flock to this seafood haven.
