Sun Life Clients in Cebu captivated by Donny Pangilinan
Donny Pangilinan, Sun Life brand ambassador, recently brought joy to Cebuano clients by launching the Play for Life campaign at a media conference held at Fili Hotel on July 12, 2024.
Introducing Play for Life
The Play for Life campaign seeks to enhance financial literacy through an engaging and enjoyable approach using gamification. Central to this campaign is “Play for Life: A Game of Choices,” developed by Sun Life that replicates real-life challenges and financial decisions necessary for achieving personal goals.
Digital Video Commercial Launch
During the event, Carla Gonzalez-Chong, Sun Life Philippines Chief Client Experience and Marketing Officer, premiered a new digital video commercial featuring Donny Pangilinan alongside other brand ambassadors like Piolo Pascual, Matteo Guidicelli, and Sarah Geronimo. In the video, they play the board game designed by Sun Life. Scheduled for public release on July 15; the video emphasizes how Sun Life products and solutions assist individuals in reaching their life goals, whether it is securing their family’s future or safeguarding their health.
Promoting Financial Empowerment
“Sun Life created this original game to help Filipinos, especially the younger generation, feel empowered to make smart financial decisions and navigate the game of life,” said Gonzalez-Chong.
To further promote the game and the campaign, Donny Pangilinan announced an exciting new promotion that is available to Sun Life clients and the public. Participants can win trips to Japan or Vietnam and Giftaway vouchers worth PHP 10,000. Detailed information about the client promotion can be found at Sunlife.co/PFLMechanics, while public promotion details are available at SunLife. Co/PlayTalkWinMechanics.
Expanding Sun Life’s Reach in Provincial Areas
Gonzalez-Chong also shared insights from a recent study conducted among Gen Zs in Metro Cebu. The study revealed that 44% of respondents plan to purchase life insurance with savings products in the next two years, 38% intend to get basic life insurance or Variable Universal Life insurance, and another 38% are interested in health insurance with hospitalization coverage.
However, the study also indicated that 54% of the respondents have not acquired life insurance due to other financial priorities, and 40% find the information too complex to understand. Gonzalez-Chong emphasized the importance of intensifying Sun Life’s efforts and strengthening its presence in provincial areas, especially in the Visayas and Mindanao regions. “Through Play for Life, we aim to make financial products like life insurance, health insurance, and investment more accessible and easier to understand,” she explained.
Experiencing Play for Life
For a more immersive experience, a life-size version of Play for Life will be showcased in select areas around the country. Participants can navigate the giant board game and make real-life decisions at SM Sta Rosa from July 27 to 28, 2024, SM Lanang, Davao, August 24 to 25, 2024, and SM Iloilo from September 14 to 15. Additionally, tabletop board game versions of Play for Life will be available, allowing individuals to play with friends, family, and Sun Life financial advisors.
Soon, Filipinos nationwide will also be able to play the tabletop version at Sun Life branches and online at sunlife.co/playforlifegame.
