Gathered at the elegant Ricardo Hall of L’ Fisher Hotel, we eagerly anticipated the birthday celebration of our dear friend, Atty. Nelsie Arcolas. Lei Lani and I came from our classes at La Salle, expecting the party to begin later. However, to our surprise, as we arrived, we found Nelsie seated on a chair on the small stage, radiant in a dainty floral dress and clutching a bouquet. She looked stunning, her smile lighting up the room. It was evident that she was genuinely happy and excited for the festivities to begin.
This wasn’t the first time we had gathered to celebrate Nelsie’s birthday at this venue; last year’s celebration was equally unforgettable. Nelsie, or Nelsie as we affectionately refer to her, holds a special place in our hearts. She’s not just a colleague; she’s a dear friend whose warmth and kindness have touched our lives in countless ways.

Nelsie’s journey to success is nothing short of inspiring. While teaching alongside me at LCC Bacolod’s Business department, she also juggled a full-time job at the Bureau of Internal Revenue in Bacolod. Despite her busy schedule, she pursued her CPA license and is now on her way to completing her doctoral degree at La Consolacion College Bacolod. Her dedication and hard work are truly commendable, and it’s no surprise that she has achieved so much.

During the pandemic, she showed her support by patronizing my business, even though she’s not particularly fond of plants. She started collecting plants, jokingly naming one of my jars after her. Her generosity and support know no bounds, and it’s no wonder why life has blessed her abundantly.
