Rediscovering Apollo Restaurant Hilado Branch, Bacolod City

 Treasured Memories

Last Friday morning, amid the hustle and bustle of preparing for our Mask exhibit at Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, my phone buzzed with messages. It was a gentle nudge, reminding me of our lunch at the beloved Apollo Restaurant Hilado Branch.

Apollo Restaurant: A Place of History Since 1969

Apollo Restaurant isn’t just a dining spot; it’s a cornerstone of family gatherings and special occasions. Established in 1969, it has woven itself into the tapestry of Bacolod’s cultural heritage. I can still recall my college days when a visit to their Plaza Mart branch was a cherished ritual.

After a movie downtown, we’d often head to Apollo for their famous Lomi. The price was just right for students on a budget. Sadly, the downtown branch closed after Plaza Mart underwent renovations.

Apollo Restaurant: From Work to Celebrations

Stepping into the professional realm, I found solace in the unwavering presence of Apollo Restaurant. Whenever the office buzzed with events, it became second nature for us to reach out to the Hilado branch. Their delectable offerings not only tantalized our taste buds but also added a touch of culinary finesse to our gatherings.

As the years rolled on, the function rooms at Apollo became more than just spaces for corporate affairs. They transformed into the canvas of countless training sessions and seminars, where I stood as a facilitator. The walls witnessed the ebb and flow of knowledge, the shared insights, and the growth of each participant. It became a hub of learning, with Apollo’s inviting ambiance providing the perfect backdrop for intellectual exchange and professional development.

But Apollo was more than just a venue for work-related affairs. It evolved into the heart of personal celebrations as well. Birthdays, wedding receptions, promotions, and even impromptu get-togethers after a successful project found a welcoming home within its walls. The familiar faces of the staff, their warm greetings, and the enticing aroma of their dishes all contributed to making every event a treasured memory. It was more than just a place of business; it was a sanctuary where bonds were forged, achievements celebrated, and dreams pursued.

Steamed Chicken with Ham (P845): Tender, flavorful, and oh-so-delicate, it was a testament to the chef’s skill.
